THANE: A fire broke out in a Wagle Estate-based factory manufacturing switchgears on Thursday night, officials informed. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.
The regional disaster management cell in Thane received a call about the blaze that sparked in the Switch Gear Pvt Ltd factory located in the Bhawani Nagar area of Wagle Estate around 10.10 pm.
“Our team rushed to the spot and assisted the local fire brigade to douse the blaze. The fire was controlled and cooling operations are ongoing,” informed Yasin Tadvi, in charge at the Thane RDMC.
The estimate of losses is yet to be known, and the cause of the blaze will be investigated later, officials said.
