Elon Musk’s youngest son, X Æ A-Xii, appeared at the White House on Tuesday, playfully roaming the Oval Office while the US President Donald Trump signed an executive order reshaping the federal workforce.
The four-year-old was seen smiling, climbing onto his father’s shoulders, mimicking him, making the reporters laugh, and wandering around as the president and Musk addressed them.
The newly elected president called the child ‘a great guy’ and a ‘high IQ individual.’
Social media took notice of ‘Little X‘ and his adorable presence. Photos of the boy grinning at reporters and perching on Musk’s shoulders spread online, amusing many with the unusual sight of a child at a major policy announcement.
Musk also reshared a post comparing a photo of Little X with Trump to an old image of JFK with his son.
Trump made a rare public appearance with Musk, his most influential adviser, as he signed an order requiring federal agencies to cooperate with the newly established department of government efficiency (DOGE), which Musk now leads. The initiative aims to reduce the size of the federal workforce, a move that Musk has strongly advocated.
During the event, Musk called federal employees an “unelected” fourth branch of government that needed to be held accountable. His remarks marked his first public appearance since taking charge of DOGE, a department he and his team have largely operated behind closed doors. The executive order Trump signed limits federal hiring and spending, except in areas related to immigration, law enforcement, and public safety. Reporters pressed both Trump and Musk on the order’s implications while Musk’s son, seemingly unfazed by the serious discussions, entertained onlookers with his playful behaviour.
