NEW DELHI: A cab driver died after his vehicle was hit by a concrete mixer truck and caught fire in Mumbai during the early hours of Thursday, police said.
The incident took place near Dahisar Naka in western suburbs at 2.15 am, an official said.
The cab was travelling towards Kandivali with the driver and one passenger when the incident occurred.
Officials reported that a fast-moving concrete mixer truck, travelling from Dahisar to Kandivali, struck the road divider following a tyre burst.

Subsequently, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, which crossed over the divider and collided with the cab.
The impact caused a spark in the cab, resulting in a fire that quickly consumed the entire vehicle.
Whilst the passenger managed to escape to safety, the driver, Masood Alam Shaikh, became trapped between the steering wheel and his seat, unable to free himself.
Upon receiving the alert, officers from Kasturba Marg police station arrived at the scene.
They extracted the driver from the burning vehicle and transported him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The cab driver, who resided in the Marol area of Mumbai, succumbed to severe burn injuries sustained in the vehicle.
Police confirmed the arrest of the truck driver and registered a case against him.
