Drew Brees, the former New Orleans Saints quarterback has reportedly been approached by Netflix to become a broadcaster for the NFL Christmas Day games with Scott Hanson, as per a report of Front Office Sports. However, as per the reports, this wont be available to the residents of the United States. Netflix will be exclusively bringing Drew Brees and Scott Hanson for the international audience of the NFL Christmas Day games.
Drew Brees’ Previous Experience As A Broadcaster And How He Is All Excited For Another Chance To Work With The NFL
Back in 2021, Brees had signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints valued at approximately $1 million. Shortly after signing this contract, Brees announced his retirement exactly 15 years later after signing his first contract with the same team. After his retirement, he signed a contract with the NBC Sports to become an analyst for both Notre Dame Games and Football Night America, both which he left after the season ended in 2022.
In an exclusive interview with the Front Office Sports in 2024, Brees spoke about how he would love to become a broadcaster for NFL again and also spoke about his confidence in becoming a really good broadcaster for the NFL matches. As per Front Office Sports, he said, “I think I could be the absolute best at it, if given the opportunity. I valued my time at NBC so much, for that year after I played, I spent most of that time in-studio on Sunday Night Football, having to work with some incredible people. But I didn’t really get the chance to broadcast NFL games. And that’s what I feel like I’m most qualified to do. That’s what I feel like I’m most passionate about. And certainly where my knowledge base lies, right? Telling the story of the game, getting you inside the huddle, getting you inside the quarterback’s head, letting you know how we’re attacking this defense. … That to me is something I’d love to do down the road when the time is right.”

Drew Brees Co-Host Scott Hanson Is A Seasoned Broadcaster

Meanwhile, his cohost Scott Hanson is bringing with himself quite an experience to become a broadcaster for the NFL Christmas Day games along with Brees. Scott Hanson is on his 16th season of hosting RedZone and has recently received a lot of appreciation when he covered the Paris Olympics 2024 on NBC’s Gold Zone.
