Dombivli Driver Arrested with Over Rs 1 Lakh Worth of MD Drugs in Police Operation | Mumbai News

KALYAN: The DCP squad of the Kalyan region of Thane police has recovered MD contraband worth over Rs 1 lakh from a driver in Dombivli. Police suspect that the accused used to sell MD drugs to the youth of the city.
The arrested accused is identified as Vinay Iyer, 26, and he lives on Rajaji Path in Dombivli. Police arrested the accused under the NDPS Act.
According to police sources, after the rape and brutal murder of a 13-year-old girl in Kalyan, Kalyan Zone DCP Atul Zende launched a massive campaign against drug sellers and drug users in the city.
Apart from this, the police intensified action against those who create a ruckus in public places, disturb peace, smoke cigarettes in public places, and keep shops open late at night, taking action against a total of 722 such people.
Under the same campaign, the police started strong action against those selling drugs.
Under this, three days ago in Kalyan, the police caught a person named Laxman Reddy with 1,123 grams of ganja and also recovered the government-banned drug codeine from two people this week.
The action of the police is being praised all over the city.
