Dalit Youths Protest Against Inaction on Ambedkar Statue in Mysuru | Mysuru News

MYSURU: A group of young Dalit individuals installed boards criticsing “Congress leaders of Nagralle village, which is part of the Varuna Assembly segment represented by chief minister Siddaramaiah, as incapable (Impotent)” on Tuesday.
The protest boards were placed at four locations, including electric poles, announcing that Congress leaders are barred from entering the village.
Prior to the assembly elections, chief minister Siddaramaiah and H.C. Mahadevappa assured the Dalit community about installing an Ambedkar statue in the village.
MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah conducted a groundbreaking ceremony before the Lok Sabha election, with Rs 3 lakh allocated for the foundation work. The project requires an additional Rs 20 lakh for completion.
The Dalit youths, who previously supported Siddaramaiah and Mahadevappa during elections, are now upset as the CM’s close associate Kumar indicated only Rs 3 lakh would be provided and no additional funds would be given. This disappointed the youths, who responded with this distinctive form of protest to express their dissatisfaction.
