Mumbai: Deputy CM Eknath Shinde met PM Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and national BJP chief J P Nadda in Delhi on Thursday. The meeting with Modi—his first since Mahayuti swept the assembly polls, which he called a “courtesy visit”—lasted around 45 minutes. Shinde said he will meet Modi again with CM Devendra Fadnavis and deputy CM Ajit Pawar to discuss issues related to the state’s development.
Asserting that Modi “gave a lot of time to Maharashtra”, he said, “The PM has assured us of full support. Under Devendra Fadnavis’s leadership, we will make a roadmap for the state’s overall development.”
Earlier this month, amid buzz that he was miffed over portfolio allocations, Shinde had skipped a visit by Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar to Delhi. —Chaitanya Marpakwar
