Activists move court on Sattar poll affidavit

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Sillod-based activist Mahesh Shankarpelli and Pune’s Dr Abhishesk Haridas have moved a local court alleging that Shiv Sena‘s Sillod MLA Abdul Sattar submitted false information in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission ahead of the assembly elections.
The complainants allegeed that Sattar provided misleading information in violation of Section 125A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, which penalises false declarations.
The duo stated that they had already filed a petition against Sattar before the Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court, which also issued a notice.
Earlier in 2019, Shankarpelli had filed a similar complaint, following which an FIR against Sattar was registered. He even had to secure bail in the case then. Currently, the case is under trial at the Sillod-based court. The petition was filed against Sattar over the alleged false affidavit in the assembly elections. — Mohammed Akhef
