City chills as temperature dips to 16.9C

Mumbai: Cool weather conditions continued to prevail in Mumbai as minimum temperatures recorded by IMD Santacruz observatory on Wednesday dipped to 16.9 degrees Celsius. The Colaba observatory recorded a minimum of 19.5 degrees Celsius.
Until a day ago, minimum temperatures recorded by the Colaba and Santacruz observatories were 20.3 and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Day temperatures in the city were also near normal as the Colaba and Santacruz observatories logged maximum temperatures of 29.2 and 31.8 degrees Celsius. Mumbai was cooler than Pune’s Koregaon on Wednesday as the latter recorded day temperatures of 37.5 degrees Celsius. Even the Shivaji Nagar observatory recorded 35.9 degrees.
In its forecast for the next 24 hours, the weather bureau said maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 33 degrees and 17 degrees. TNN
