Meanwhile, Satish Jain, a former Councillor (1997-2002), represents the BJP, and Congress has fielded Mudit Agarwal, son of veteran Congress leader and ex-MP Jaiprakash Agarwal.
The Chandni Chowk election results will be declared on February 8, along with the other 69 constituencies in Delhi. The seat, known for its historical and commercial prominence, is part of the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency and is categorized as a general seat. Alongside the three major parties, smaller regional groups are also contesting in this election.

About Chandni Chowk Assembly Constituency

Chandni Chowk is an Old Delhi constituency with a diverse electorate. Scheduled Castes make up 18.41% of the population. In 2020, the constituency had 125,717 registered voters across 133 polling stations, with a voter turnout of 61.43%. AAP secured a landslide victory that year, winning 65.92% of the votes, while BJP secured 27.6% and Congress managed only 5.03%.
The 2020 elections saw AAP’s Prahlad Singh Sawhney win by a margin of 29,584 votes, securing 50,891 votes (65.92%). BJP’s Suman Kumar Gupta followed with 21,307 votes (27.60%). In 2015, AAP’s Alka Lamba had won the seat with 36,756 votes (49.35%), defeating BJP’s Suman Kumar Gupta, who got 18,469 votes (24.80%).
Over the years, Chandni Chowk has seen fluctuating political dominance. Prahlad Singh Sawhney represented Congress in 2008 and 2013 before joining AAP in 2020. Alka Lamba, previously with AAP, won in 2015 but later returned to Congress. Given its political volatility, Chandni Chowk remains a crucial battleground in Delhi elections.
