BMW Group India has recorded its best-ever annual sales performance in 2024, achieving a remarkable 11% growth compared to the previous year. The German automaker delivered an impressive 15,721 cars across its BMW and MINI brands. This milestone included 15,012 BMW units and 709 MINI units.
The fourth quarter of 2024 proved to be a strong finish, with BMW registering its highest-ever Q4 sales at 4,958 units, reflecting a 15% growth. December alone saw sales of 2,244 units, marking a 17% increase.
BMW Sales: Luxury class and SUVs drive growth
BMW’s Luxury Class segment saw a healthy 8% rise in sales, delivering 2,507 units. The BMW X7 emerged as the star performer in this category, with 1,570 units sold, up 4% YoY. The luxury SUV has now surpassed the 5,000-unit mark since its launch in India. The BMW 7 Series also posted an impressive 15% growth, with 865 units sold in 2024.
Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) continued to be a cornerstone of BMW’s success, accounting for 56% of its total sales. The company sold 8,351 SAVs, a 16% growth compared to last year. The BMW X1 led the charge, contributing over 20% of total sales, while the X5 achieved its best-ever annual sales with 2,056 units sold.
BMW Sales: EVs gaining momentum
BMW Group India solidified its leadership in the luxury EV space, delivering 1,249 electric BMW and MINI cars in 2024. The BMW i7 emerged as the top-selling EV in its segment, with 384 units sold. The group now offers six electric models in India.
BMW Sales: Performance and sedans shine
BMW M, the brand’s high-performance division, had a stellar year with 875 units sold, supported by the launch of eight new models. The M340i stood out as the best-seller in this segment. Sedans also remained a key part of BMW’s portfolio, with the 3 Series leading its category and contributing 20% of total sales. Meanwhile, the newly launched 5 Series Long Wheelbase exceeded 1,000 units sold within six months.
BMW Group India: MINI and BMW Motorrad sales
MINI delivered 709 units, led by the 3-Door Cooper S, which saw a staggering 77% growth with 250 units sold. BMW Motorrad, the company’s two-wheeler division, also reported a robust year, delivering 8,301 motorcycles.
