Andheri beachfront cleared of encroachments

Mumbai: A stretch of the beachfront in Andheri near Sagar Kutir has been cleared of all encroachments, giving Mumbaikars a new destination for recreation.
BJP MLA Ameet Satam the encroachment-free beach was the result of continual efforts over 10 years.
“Andheri West beach in Ganesh Visarjan lane near Sagar Kutir was up for grabs with illegal shanties and illegal methi plantations taking over. We initiated various demolitions in the last ten years and kept our efforts on to clear the beach with continuous surveillance in association with citizens. Today, I am glad to see the entire beach clean and clear of all encroachments, and the city has got another clean and clear open space beachfront,” Satam said on Monday.
