Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun appeared before the Chikkadpally police on Tuesday morning in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede case. The incident, which occurred during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ resulted in the tragic death of a woman and left her son critically injured.
According to the reports, the actor, who had been granted interim bail, was summoned for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. Accompanied by his father and producer, Allu Arvind; his father-in-law and Congress leader, Chandrashekar Reddy; and his legal team, Allu Arjun arrived at the police station to comply with the notice served by authorities on Monday.
The police have stated that they may take the actor to the scene of the incident, Sandhya Theatre, as part of the investigation to determine the facts surrounding the stampede.
Meanwhile, Congress leader and Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, along with the film’s producers, extended financial compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the family of the deceased woman. The Congress party also refuted allegations of bias against the film industry in the handling of the case.
The controversy escalated further after members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC) protested at Allu Arjun’s residence, demanding additional support for the victim’s family. Their actions led to damage to the actor’s property and their subsequent arrest, though they were released on bail the following day.
