GURGAON: Three students of Orchid International School in Sector 41, Gurgaon, were left stranded outside their school gates on February 10, unable to sit for their Class 10 English board exam after being denied their admit cards despite repeated follow-ups.

The parents of the affected students have expressed outrage, stating they had been chasing the school administration for over a week in hopes of securing the admit cards.
“We were assured that everything would be sorted, but even after following up until Friday night, we were told nothing more could be done,” one parent said.
The parents further revealed that when they enrolled their children at Orchid International School in 2023, they were promised that the school would obtain CBSE affiliation within two months. However, they have now discovered that the Gurgaon branch is still not affiliated, despite the principal’s earlier assurances.
Adding to their frustration, the school’s signage misleadingly claims CBSE affiliation, which parents believe deceived them at the time of admission.
The confusion deepened when it emerged that the school had been referring to its CBSE-affiliated branch in Dwarka Sector 19, rather than the Gurgaon branch.
The school principal, however, has refuted the parents’ allegations, claiming the Gurgaon school received CBSE affiliation last year.
She also stated that the school will file a petition in the high court to secure admit cards for a re-examination, attributing the rejection by CBSE on Friday night around 8 pm to documentation issues from the parents’ side.
