Skoda unveiled the second-gen Kodiaq at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo last month, signaling its impending launch. After introducing its most affordable model in India, the Kylaq, the brand is now preparing to roll out its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, likely in April. Similar to the outgoing model, the new Kodiaq will be locally assembled using Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits. Here’s a quick look at what we can expect from the model.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Design and features
Test mules of the 2025 Kodiaq have been spotted multiple times in recent months. This iteration of the SUV is built on Skoda’s latest design language, featuring a longer and lower stance. The overall length has increased by 61 mm to 4.75 metres, while the width and wheelbase remain unchanged at 1.8 metres and 2.71 metres, respectively.
Notable design elements include a sculpted bonnet, a hexagonal Skoda grille with vertical slats, and a matte dark chrome-finished logo. Sleek split matrix LED headlamps with an LED strip, redesigned alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 20 inches, and a reworked rear profile with an extended roof spoiler and integrated diffuser are among other changes.
Inside, the 2025 Kodiaq boasts a completely redesigned dashboard featuring a free-standing 13.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rotary dials with embedded screens, and vertically stacked air vents. Feature highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster with a head-up display, 15W wireless smartphone charging with active cooling, ambient lighting, and Skoda’s signature umbrella compartments in the front doors.
The rear of the Kodiaq has been thoroughly revamped, boasting sleek C-shaped LED taillights, bold Skoda lettering, and a roof-mounted spoiler for a sportier look. It also gets a redesigned tailgate and bumper. Additionally, the D-pillar comes with an optional dark chrome finish. As for safety, we can expect the Kodiaq offering up to nine airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors. Additionally, the SUV will be equipped with ADAS.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Powertrain
For the Indian market, the SUV is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine producing 187 hp and 320 Nm of torque. This engine will come mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox as standard.
