15-year-old girl rescued from sex trafficking

Mumbai: A 15-year-old girl was rescued from a sex trafficking ring by the Mumbai crime branch and Harmony Foundation NGO. The girl encountered a Nepali girl who introduced her to Saniya and Akruti Kapoor, operators of a sex trafficking network in Bandra. The teen fell victim to promises before being trafficked. Dr. Abraham Mathai, Harmony Foundation chairperson said, “The rescue of this 15-year-old girl is a relief, but countless others remain trapped in similar situations and it is a wake-up call for civil society. While one life has been saved, we should strive to save even more lives.” tnn
