Thane: Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde and his MP son Shrikant Shinde on Tuesday announced Rs 5 lakh financial assistance for former cricketer Vinod Kambli, who is recuperating at a Bhiwandi-based hospital since Saturday for a host of ailments. Kambli was shifted there after he complained of uneasiness while at his Bandra residence.
A member from Shinde’s team visited the hospital on Tuesday to check on the health of the former cricketer and meet the doctors and the facility administration. They conveyed his message to not spare any efforts in treating Kambli. The financial assistance will be provided through the foundation operated by MP Shinde, informed Mangesh Chivate, OSD to Shinde.
