Manasvi Vashist, who has done shows like Imlie and Ishq Mein Marjawan 2, is back with an OTT show (Campus Beats Season 4) after a two-year hiatus. The actor, who was in Ahmedabad recently, shares, “I travelled during this break and attended a few workshops. That really helped me to get better at what I do.”
Manasvi, who left his corporate life behind when he joined the cast of Imlie, says that there has been “no looking back” ever since. “From the very first day I faced the camera, I realised that I was born for this,” he says.
‘Films would be the next step for me’
Like any actor, does Manasvi also plan to dabble in multiple mediums, especially films? He says, “Having done TV and OTT, my next step would be films. I am in talks for a film, but I can only reveal more when the project is confirmed. I am open to doing projects in any language, provided they give me the room and time to learn it.”
Manasvi is a self-proclaimed ambivert. He tells us, “Initially, I would think that maybe, I will have to be a little more outgoing. But then, I realised that when it comes to getting work in the industry, it’s just about those two minutes you spend in an audition. It doesn’t matter if you have friends; it’s just about time and talent.” He adds, “You can’t really make any plans in the industry. But given a choice, I want to do an intense role in a thriller, like that of a cop or an agent. I really enjoy watching thrillers.”
He also says that he has never felt the pressure of being active on social media. He feels, “I think my audience already knows that I’m an ambivert. I am not active on social media, but I am sure that they understand my absence at times.”
‘I want to create my own identity in the industry’
If someone has a godfather, they will have an edge. But I think I can set an example that somebody who doesn’t know anybody in the city, forget having a godfather, can make it in the industry. I want to do some nice work and create an identity of my own.
