Mumbai: In a move set to shape the next chapter of learning across Maharashtra, the govt unveiled a ten-point roadmap for school education, scheduled to unfold within 100 days. Education commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh has directed officers—from local administrators to the director of school education—to make on-site visits to schools, including surprise inspections. Priorities include record management through the Saral portal, and adherence to daily routines like the singing of the state anthem. “Deputy directors are now charged with frequent school visits,” reads a recent circular.
“…We’ll foster development through regular inspections, enriched infrastructure, and the creation of Anand Gurukul residential schools for exceptionally talented students. Equally crucial is expediting teacher appointments, reducing administrative burdens, and honouring pioneering individuals and institutions whose creativity fuels progress. Lastly, we’re reinforcing student health and nutrition programmes,” it said. tnn
