Mumbai: The Indian Music Group (IMG) of St Xavier’s College completed 50 years of their iconic Janfest this year. The two-day celebration of Indian classical music on Jan 25 and 26, promises to carry forward its legacy with performance by both established artists and rising stars. Janfest 2025 will feature musicians such as Dr N Rajam, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, Shubha Mudgal, Rahul Sharma’s Santoor collective and Shashank Subramanyam. Alongside these stalwarts, IMG continues to nurture young talent, providing a platform for child prodigies like Anagha Sukhtankar, Megh Pote, Arijeet Banerjee, and Rahul Vidwans and upcoming artists like Aniruddh Aithal.
In the past Janfest has hosted luminaries like Ustad Allarakha Khan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pt Shivkumar Sharma, Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia, and Pt Ravi Shankar.
