Sheeba Akashdeep has opened up about a shocking on-set altercation with Aditya Pancholi during the shooting of the 1995 film Surakshaa.
According to News 18, In a recent interview, Sheeba recalled the distressing incident that unfolded late at night after a tiring day of work.
The actress revealed that she had arrived on set after completing two prior shifts and was resting in her car, wrapped in a blanket. As she stepped out for her scene, Aditya Pancholi allegedly got triggered by a casual remark she made in her sleepy state. “He turned and said something like, ‘Do like that.’ I was drowsy and replied, ‘You do your own work na.’ That was enough to set him off. He started hurling abuses, and a heated argument broke out in the middle of the road at midnight,” she said.
Sheeba described feeling scared and emotional, especially when the producer failed to intervene. “I cried and looked at the producer, but he didn’t even react. He didn’t know what to do when the lead actor and actress were fighting.” Overwhelmed, she stormed off the set, refusing to return. “That was the first time I left a set like this. I said, ‘He abused me, and you did nothing. I won’t work now.’”
Despite Surakshaa eventually being completed, Sheeba never returned to finish her scenes. The film, directed by Raju Mavani, starred Aditya Pancholi, Suniel Shetty, Saif Ali Khan, Divya Dutta, and Monica Bedi.
On the work front, she was last seen in ‘Fateh’ which received 3.5 stars from ETimes and our review read, “Sonu Sood, who makes his directorial debut with this film, handles the action effectively, and his performance, perhaps by design, doesn’t delve deeply into the character’s emotional side. Naseeruddin Shah and Vijay Raaz make their presence felt despite limited screen time, with Raaz’s sly humor offering moments of relief in an otherwise dark plot. Jacqueline Fernandez does well in her role as ethical hacker Khushi, and it’s refreshing that the film avoids unnecessary romantic distractions. The screenplay, written by Sonu Sood and Ankur Pajni, traverses various locations to highlight the far-reaching influence of cyber crimes.”
