Cody Rhodes has been at the pinnacle of sports entertainment for almost a year now. The American Nightmare’s journey to the top of the WWE mountain began with his monumental victory at WrestleMania XL. He defeated Roman Reigns in the main event to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
For almost a year, Rhodes has proven his worth as an incredible champion. With WrestleMania coming up again in a few months, here is a look at top four contenders who can challenge him for the title at The Showcase of the Immortals this year:
4. CM Punk
CM Punk is considered one of the biggest and most influential WWE superstars of all time. Interestingly, Punk and Cody Rhodes were part of AEW during the same time but never squared off against each other. They even traded blows and moves in the 2024 Royal Rumble but have never had a full-fledged match. With Punk making it clear that Cody is on his target at RAW on Netflix debut, they could deliver a monumental match at WrestleMania 41
3. Roman Reigns
The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns has been a prime focus for the last two years of WrestleMania season. The two marquee names have one victory each over the other at WrestleMania. So, a third and final encounter between Reigns and Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE title at WrestleMania 41 could settle this rivalry once and for all.
2. The Rock
The Rock was a major roadblock in Cody Rhodes’ journey to ‘Finish The Story’ leading up to WrestleMania 40. However, The Rock was very much cordial when he interacted with Rhodes on RAW’s debut on Netflix. But he hinted at reigniting the rivalry the next night at NXT New Year’s Evil. The Final Boss was once penciled to battle Cody for the title at WrestleMania this year, so if it comes true, it could be one of the biggest showdowns in the history of the event.

John Cena has begun his highly anticipated farewell tour on WWE RAW on Netflix’s debut show. He has set his sights on winning his 17th World Championship and entered himself into the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble match.
