Panaji: Undir-Ponda resident Gurudas Naik on Sunday lodged a police complaint seeking an investigation into cows going missing from a Nirankal-based cow shelter run by a voluntary body.
Naik, supported by activists of some other organisations, met Ponda PI Vijaynath Kawlekar and submitted his complaint.
The organisation runs under an MoU with Ponda Municipal Council, funded by the department of animal husbandry and veterinary services. The shelter records state that two cows have been returned to their owners after they submitted claims through proper channels. One, however, is reported missing.
