Mumbai: Patients seeking diagnostic tests faced unexpected hurdles on Tuesday as Krsnaa Diagnostics, laboratory partner for Mumbai’s ‘Aapli Chikitsa’ programme, partially suspended services at over 400 civic clinics and hospitals. Blood collection services were abruptly halted, leaving hospitals scrambling for answers while scans remained operational.
“They suddenly stopped blood collection without any prior notice. We only learned about it through our colleagues,” said Dr Jairaj Acharya, medical superintendent at V N Desai Hospital. Chief medical superintendent (Peripheral Hospitals) Dr Chandrakant Pawar said the issue was resolved and services would resume on Wednesday. However, a representative from Krsnaa Diagnostics said the disruption was because of overdue payments of almost Rs 10 crore. tnn
