PALGHAR: Palghar police on Thursday were felicitated for securing the top spot by securing the first prize under the 100-day governance improvement campaign kick started by the Maharashtra government. Under the seven point program the Palghar police department secured maximum points on all seven parameters like cleanliness drive, complaint attending and resolving mechanism, Integration of AI on a day to day basis, user friendly police website and numerous initiatives taken to create a “cyber crime free” villages and district.
The performance of the first 550 days was reviewed of this campaign which kick started on Jan 7. Palghar Superintendent of Police (SP) Balasaheb Patil was felicitated by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the two deputies Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar in an event concluded at Sahyadri guest house in Mumbai on Feb 27.
The Palghar police has taken numerous initiatives, involving villagers and tribals, educating them on cyber crimes, its prevention and online fraud. They also have plans to train maximum people in detecting and avoiding possible cyber fraud, which shall directly reduce cyber crimes and increase awareness from one house to another. Sharing this appreciation with the entire Palghar police department, SP Balasaheb Patil said that this was a result of 100% coordination and team work.
He also said that, “Due to the chief minister’s 100 days assessment, there was a healthy competition among the officers, which further helped the common man have an easy access to the law enforcing officers. Also, making Palghar district Cyber Crime Free was our focus due to which we conducted several awareness workshops deep into remote villages and hamlets. All these efforts have been appreciated by the government & has only pumped our resolve to achieve more!”
