Kurt Angle remains a treasure in professional wrestling, often stealing the limelight whenever he appears on WWE television. Known for his charisma, in-ring talent, and special moments, Angle’s existence has always been a highlight for fans. Meanwhile, John Cena, one of the most iconic figures in WWE history, is presently on his retirement tour, set to finish his career as an in-ring competitor in 2025. The chance of a reunion or special segment between these two legends has generated significant excitement among fans and the wrestling community. Recently, Angle shared his thoughts on this intriguing possibility and reflected on his past exchanges with Cena.
Kurt Angle on Doing a Segment with Cena
While featuring on the Insight Podcast with Chris Van Vliet, Kurt Angle was asked whether WWE might reach out to involve him in a segment with John Cena this year.
Van Vliet directly asked, “You think you might get a call from WWE at some point this year to do a segment with him?”
In response, the Olympic Gold Medalist said that such a scenario is entirely possible. He recalled earlier instances when WWE called him to appear on special occasions, such as celebrating his birthday or participating in a nostalgic milk-spraying segment alongside Chad Gable, Otis, and Gable Steveson.
“Yeah, that could be possible. If they need me to do something like that, that’s cool. That’s right, they actually brought me on TV for my birthday a couple of years ago. Then they brought me on to spray down Chad Gable and Otis with milk, which I did with Gable Steveson. So I had a couple of days. Usually when they come to Pittsburgh for TV, they usually give me a call and say, ‘Hey, would you do something?’” Angle explained.
Addressing rumors of inducting Cena into the WWE Hall of Fame, Angle announced he would be deeply honored to have the role. However, he acknowledged that other deserving figures, like Randy Orton and Stephanie McMahon, could also do the honors.
Angle also explained that while he cannot wrestle John Cena due to his physical limitations, he would love to be part of Cena’s journey in any capacity.
As Cena prepares for the Royal Rumble and his retirement tour in 2025, fans eagerly await any possible collaboration between the two legends. Whether it’s a nostalgic piece or a Hall of Fame induction, a Cena-Angle reunion would be a fitting tribute to their shared history.
