Thane: The much-awaited railway overbridge work near Diva station is likely to face further delays as the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is yet to acquire crucial land parcels on the west side of the suburb for constructing landing of the flyover, officials informed. The two-lane rail overbridge (RoB) is 750 m long, connecting the east and west sides of the city and crossing over the tracks. It consists of three parts: – a 103 m portion over the tracks and 340 m landing on the east side while the rest is towards the west side of the city. Work on the Rs 39 crore project, which started in 2019, was to be finished by 2022, but the completion date still seems far. While the landings will be constructed by the Thane corporation, the portion over the tracks will be built by the Central Railways. tnn
