THANE: A 32-year-old dance teacher was booked by the Kapurbawdi police in Thane for allegedly assaulting a six-year-old girl with a metal scale at a private school in the Kolshet area.
A police officer said that the incident reportedly took place on January 15 at around 11.55 am, inside the school located in the Kolshet area, while preparations for the school’s annual function were ongoing.
According to police, the teacher, who was hired specifically for training students for the annual event, allegedly struck the child with a steel scale twice during a dance practice session after questioning her about her absence from school the previous day.

The case was filed under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
