VASAI: A senior party worker of Shiv Sena (Shinde), who also served as the Dahanu-Talasari Assembly coordinator, has been missing since the evening of January 20. He made a phone call to his wife that evening but did not return home afterward. While the family believes he has been kidnapped, the police have filed a missing person report as of January 22, 2024.
“My husband, Ashok Dhodi, traveled to Mumbai by train on the evening of January 19 and returned on the 20th. When he was on his way home along the Dahanu-Gholvad road, he called me to say that I should prepare the food. After that, his phone was turned off,” said Dhodi’s wife. She is convinced that her husband has been kidnapped.
Kundan Sankhe, a senior Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader, stated that they are in regular contact with the police, who are investigating the case. He added that it has been seven days since Ashok Dhodi’s disappearance, and CCTV footage has shown his car. Sankhe emphasized that Dhodi, a senior Shiv Sena party worker, is missing, and the investigation needs to be expedited.
Palghar SP Balasaheb Patil confirmed that a missing person report has been filed at Gholvad police station, and investigation teams have been dispatched. He assured that the police are in constant communication with the Dhodi family and that the process of filing a kidnapping FIR is underway.
