AMBALA: Haryana’s minister of energy, transport, and labour Anil Vij, made a bold declaration during the nomination event for BJP candidates contesting in the Ambala Sadar Municipal Council (MC) elections. Addressing BJP workers in Ambala Cantonment on Monday, Vij asserted, “We will make Ambala Cantonment the most beautiful and best city in Haryana.”
Amid roaring chants of “Anil Vij Zindabad” from party supporters, Vij said,
“Toofanon se khelta hoon main, main khud bhi ek toofaan hoon, hamse takraane waalon ke liye, unke khatme ka paigam hoon.”
(I play with storms, I am myself a storm, I am the message of their end, to those who collide with us.)
Vij emphasized the commitment of the BJP towards development. He accompanied BJP Ambala Sadar MC chairman candidate Swarn Kaur and 32 candidates for posts of MC members for filing their nominations.
Cabinet minister Vij also issued a firm message to opponents, urging BJP candidates to remain undeterred by attempts to mislead them. “Elections come with difficulties, but candidates should not be distracted. Some elements tried to mislead us during the Assembly elections, but this time, our focus must remain as steady as Arjun’s eye on the fish. Our goal is clear—victory.”
Expressing his aspirations for Ambala Cantonment, Vij said, “I have worked tirelessly for years for its development, and now, I want BJP to win not just the chairman’s seat but all 32 seats in Ambala Sadar MC election.” He urged BJP candidates and workers to enter the election battlefield with full strength, reaffirming that their efforts would yield positive results for the city’s progress.
Vij described the nomination process as a festival, with BJP candidates and workers celebrating with enthusiasm. “The entire Ambala Cantonment is in a festive mood today. The BJP candidates have come to file their nominations like a grand celebration,” he remarked, expressing confidence in the party’s electoral success.
Reflecting on his years of dedicated work, Vij expressed his delight in having 32 representatives to assist in the development of the city. “For years, I have worked alone for the progress of Ambala Cantonment and our achievements speak for themselves. However, local development at the street and neighborhood level requires dedicated representatives. Today, I am the happiest person because I am getting 32 capable hands to work towards this mission”, he said.
Vij emphasized that fundamental municipal responsibilities such as electricity, water, road and cleanliness would be efficiently managed under BJP leadership. He expressed confidence that the new chairman and ward representatives would work together seamlessly for the city’s betterment.
In his speech, Anil Vij lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana chief minister (CM) Nayab Singh Saini, acknowledging their contributions to national and state development. “Our Prime Minister is rapidly advancing the country’s growth, aiming to make India a developed nation by 2047. A recent survey indicates that Modi Ji’s popularity has increased by 28% after the elections.”
He also praised CM Saini, stating, “Not a single day passes without new announcements for the welfare of the people. Haryana has a double-engine government, and to ensure that central and state government schemes reach every citizen effectively, it is crucial to have BJP governing at all levels.”
