Mumbai: A nine-year-old girl died after a stone hit her when a water tank, built temporarily by construction workers, burst in Kamathipura. The incident took place on Wednesday.
Sources said that labourers built a cement water tank for their use at the site for the construction work of SWM staff quarters by Aashray Yojana Cell of BMC inside the colony. The tank burst due to water pressure.
A nine-year-old girl, Khushi Khatoon, was declared brought dead at the hospital, while three others, Gulam Rasul (32), Miraj Khatun (nine years old), and Najranabibi (33), were injured and admitted to Fauzia Hospital. They were all said to be stable. No FIR was registered. An accidental death case was registered with the Nagpada police station. All the injured and deceased belonged to the contractor’s staff.
