KANPUR: Seven students and a teacher were injured when their school bus overturned on Mainawati Marg on Friday morning under the limit of Nawabganj police station in Kanpur.
The bus was transporting students and several staff members at the time of the incident.
Upon receiving the alert, police personnel from Bithoor station, including the ACP and other officers, reached the location.
The authorities promptly began rescue and relief operations. According to reports, the vehicle lost control while travelling at excessive speed, struck the divider, and toppled over.
Driver negligence was identified as one of the contributing factors.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Dinesh Tripathi said, “A bus from a private school in the Nawabganj area overturned due to a broken spring, injuring 7 children and 1 teacher.
After receiving first aid, all were discharged from the hospital. Further investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause that led to the mishap, and action will be taken accordingly.”
