The 2024 KBS Drama Awards are set to air next week, following a change in schedule.
KBS announced on 3 January that the pre-recorded award ceremony will be aired on 11 January at 9:20 p.m. KST. The ceremony had been scheduled for a live broadcast on December 31 but was canceled following the unfortunate crash of a Jeju Air plane on 29 December.
Although the live broadcast was canceled, the awards ceremony still went on schedule on December 31 and was taped for a later broadcast. It was considered as a gesture of respect for the victims and an opportunity for the annual event to give recognition to the best of dramas and stars for that year.
The KBS Drama Awards reward the best of Korean television, in areas such as acting, directing, and writing. This year, the list of nominees spans a wide range of talent, including the Daesang, the Grand Prize candidates, which generates excitement for the fans and professionals.
