Mumbai: The 20-year-old son of a police constable deployed in the security detail of a Rajya Sabha MP died by suicide on Friday. Police said Harsh Maske shot himself in the head with his father Santosh’s service revolver in the bathroom of his residence in Century Mill Mhada Colony in Worli. Harsh took the drastic step after his grandmother stepped out for a walk around noon. While Santosh, who is attached to Mumbai Police‘s Special Protection Unit which provides security to VIPs and individuals, was in his hometown in Sangli, his wife was at work and daughter in school. On hearing the shot, Harsh’s grandmother and neighbours rushed in and found him bleeding. They took him to hospital where he was declared dead. No suicide note was found, said police.
