KOTTAYAM: A 19-year-old woman, Sreekutty from Chavara in Kollam district, was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy in Vallikunnam, Alappuzha district. She was taken into custody by Vallikunnam police and remanded in judicial custody by the Harippad court on Friday.
According to police, they went missing on December 1 and were arrested from Pathanamthitta bus stand on December 25. During their time together, they visited various places, including Mysore, Palakkad, Palani, and Malappuram. The boy alleged that he was sexually abused at all these locations.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother. Police investigations revealed that Sreekutty was previously in a live-in relationship with a Wayanad native, whom she met through social media. She later developed an affair with a Chavara native.
Sreekutty’s relatives relocated her to a relative’s house in Vallikunnam to end her affair with the Chavara native. However, she allegedly forced the 16-year-old boy to elope with her. They mostly stayed in public places, searching for a job, before being arrested in Pathanamthitta.
